Green lane drive out 21st december

Looking to go out on the 21st of december , starting in Pontardawe TESCO'S at 8.30
Northenmost point is in LLanidloes
Most Westerly point is LLanybydder.

Total distance of route is 125miles , dont have to do all of it , there are many diferent terrains from fireroad , mud , steep climbs , one tricky tight sections , so if anyone doesnot want to do these difficult sections then i have also plotted some alternative routes .

The verry deep and wide river crossing is also included in the trip , again there is a way around .
If there is time lef then the strata can be done on the way back .

Due to adverse problems in the national park such as people going offpiste ( off the designated route ) , numbers are limited to 6 vehicles in total , anyone found not adhereing to the rules will be asked politely to leave the driveout

If sircumstances change ,once you have put your name down please let me know if u cant make it so others may go .

I will post a list of people going ,and the reserve list too

Reason i want to keep it as a small group is that some of the lanes will b hard to do after 1/2 dozen trucks have been through there and second is gives us a good name being thoughtfull about reducing destruction of greenlanes .

From past experience the bigger the group the more complex it becomes and usually if there is a limitless number of places then hardly anyone turns up !!!

could you give me an idea of the route?

hi guys why dont the other people wanting to go plan another route away from the others i.e totally differnt areas so no chance of meeting. so that all can enjoy and go greenlaning just an idea.

because we have all been waiting and waiting for this planned green lane trip,then when it happens,not enough places,not good is it not having a go at you nick just like to

its a 1st come 1st serve basis, i really want to do this day out but im sitting out to let members go.
allans trying his best to sort lanes out and get people out some lanes you could run a couple of groups but some need smaller groups.
we need to respect all lanes and helps preserve them, and this time of year is hard on them. so we got to be more carfull.
were look for another person who is clued up with legal lanes, who can run green lanes, so between that person and allan there will be more green lane days, = more happy members, again we will be trying to do these in different area so the same green lanes are not over used.

hi rob,like i said to you on phone i would be willing to organise some laning with my mate dave.we are both quite experienced and dave is genned up on lanes in south and mid wales.if its ok with alan we would be willing to help cheers

I've Been through this before i used to post dates twice a week but only ever had 4 people come on a greenlane day. Since June i have posted and driven over 37 greenlane days, that is more than the total number of days done in the club itself.

iI your not happy about the limit of numbers then its tough!

Previous situatons have occured on bonkers days out that need to be avoided so that the possibility of dammage and mistakes that could end up in people being prosecuted can be reduced.

In the worse case scenario the local authorities will just put a T.R.O order on any lane in question if they are given any reason to do so.

Our name is already well known in the 4x4 world and unfortunatly not for the right reasons.

I'm Just trying to avaid any further negativity

If u liked greenlanes so much then you would spend the time to findout their status and legality before driving them.


I WILL ARRANGE ANOTHER ROUTE IN JANUARY FOR THOSE WHO MISSED OUT THIS TIME .

THE REASON THAT IT TOOK SO LONG TO ARRANGE THIS DAY OUT WAS THE AMOUNT OF BACKGROUND WORK INVOLVED

couldn't agree more fella

unfortunately Allan works most weekend so most of the out-ins are midweek which i know is no good for most people but can not be helped.

BUT i don't think people understand what gos into sorting a off road days especially greenlanes cos u need to make sure it is all above board and drivable for all

as Allen has mentioned have slipped up before and it has been noticed by other forum users so we need to make sure it dont happen again hence all the prep work Allan has put in.

People seam happy to moan but not happy to help or even take the time to appreciate what Allan is doing.

I think people don't take into consideration that we are not getting any money for what we do we are doing it off our own backs as at the end of the day we are just club members just members who have stood up and said we will help! on that point Risca Rangie i think if u want 2 help out on days out that will be great I don't think Allan will mind at all it gives the members someone else to moan at as well lol.

Come on guys where suppose to be a club lets all work together as a club and as rob said i would have liked 2togo but as i have already driven them with Allen on a night run so i sat back let others use the limited (for a good reason) spaces.

I am ok now for 21st, going to see santa on a train instead! Would be interested in any mid week green lane trips though as I work most weekends.

great day today, although we lost nokiamutt just after the first lane. He lost low range so off he went to fix it at home. Lost low myself a little later but i couldn't be arsed to stop and managed to keep going without getting stuck, oh joy to traction control.

Awesome , glad you all enjoyed , in the process of sorting the next onee already as ive given up on fixing the disco today .

As long as Allan doesnt mind me using his routes, I'd be more than happy to run this one again for anyone who missed today's over christmas i'm free every day for untill 5th of Jan, just need to swap out the alternator and UJ's that i broke today.

It is a long day mind, we started at 9am, and finished at 5:30, so did the last part of strata (bombhole onwards) in darkness, added to the fun imo!

Just found out that I broke a anti roll bar drop link on sunday, was wondering what the banging was today when goin round corners. Oh well their made to be broken and fixed thats why we do it.
