had my landy niked tonite at 11:30. was spotted 5mins later by police with the driver makin a run for a clio that was waiting for him. the officer tried to stop them but failed. they ditched it coz it was fukd! the driverside wing smashed and wheel out of shape. not sure what they hit but it doesnt look good.
the officer said they had tried another landy 1hour earlyr but the owner disrupted them.
he also said that it happens alot with the snow around coz they just wanna rag it about!
wanna use language that would ban me from the forum tbh.............

anybody know of any good land rover mechanics local to cardiff who could have a look?

vince wont have n e defender parts he only got disco's atm dont no n e landy mechanics as i always work on my own if the chassis isnt bent should b straight forward new panels could u post a pic of damage ?

there is HBH Land Rovers in car-filthy but it will cost ya betta off doin it urself

why have i seen vince stripping defenders before, and talking to him about the really nice truck he had coming in which he wanted to keep but had to break. ?

no he breaks discos just if he can get hold of 1 then he will do that i think he told me hes done 1 or 2 u cant really call that breakin them he has broke them b4 theres a difference

from th pics the chassis dont looked touched so just a new wing can u take a pic of the axle behind the wheel ??? possibly a new front axle?

i would say they hit a post of some sort or the edge of a wall

could it of snapped a ball joint or a track rod end, ????

cheers guys for you help. allready contacted the insurance so hopefully they write it off and i can buy it back off them cheap and do most the body work myself, then just get someone else to do he axel/steering rod or what ever is fukd! also had loads of suggestions and second hand stuff being offerd.

there is a bar that runs behind the axle from 1 wheel 2 the other c if its bent i would think it is the steerin box gos 2 the nearside so 4 the offside wheel pointin out that should b ur prob

where 2 in cardiff r u ?

roath/newport rd. had a look when it got recoverd, like you said behind the axel the tracking bar was bent. will have to wait till 2moz to know wat the insurance co are gonna do.
hopefully write it off then i can get it done myself.
