| I'm thinking of buying a 90 or a 110 but don't know which one? Do any of you know what would be the best,i need to tow my series so would a 90 legaly pull it? Is there much difference in mpg between the two and roughly what mpg do you get out of a tdi? I've got about £1500, will that get me a half decent one. Your thoughts would be much apreciated | |

| i cant see u gettin a half decent one for that TBH ur be lucky to get a 110 at that price full stop so only option i can see is a old tatty 90 2.5 turbo D which wont really have the power to tow ur series at any speed as they do about 65-70 if ur really lucky empty for a tdi ur lookin more 2.5k plus for a tatty one last time i looked anyway altho i could be way off so might be worth waitin on a answer from someone with half of brain | |

| You might find a 110 for that money, I was really lucky with mine. Check ebay. For towing I'd go for the 110. Mpg............no idea, the book says 25-28mpg. | |

| A 110 seems more practical I'd get the kids and the dog in for laning and like u say better for towing, just don't want to spend all that money on something that only does 20-25mpg when I've already got a perfectly good shogun V6 that does 20mpg,although I do prefer landys | |

| £1500 for a coiler will only get you a rough example, especially if you want 110 csw. (ask me how I know), I sold my 1991 90 for £3200 and bought a 110 csw for £800 but have so far spent another £2k and it's still not on the road. so think long and hard when considering buying a cheap 90/110. as for laning/off roading/pay and play I would say a 90 wins hands down against a 110. I have driven my mates 110 at a pay and play and the turning circle is like a cross channel ferry, the departure angle is obscene . it's your call. | |

| I didn't realize they held there money so well,I've got the series V8 for the serious stuff,so only need something to tow that plus the kids are old enough now to come laning with us so a 110 would be ideal, throw all the camping gear and the dog in the back strap the kids and the wife in and strata Florida here we come! So really I need To beg steal or borrow another grand and I'll be somewhere near
Anybody want to buy a 1991 shogun V6 lwb for £2000 ??? Ha ha haaa lol lol

| Yea I'd say 1500 is abit ambitious mate, the towing capacity on a 90 is 3.5 tonne, I'd of thought that would comfortably cover the series? Hope this helps. | |

cheers mate, the Landy with the trailer only weighs about 1800kg so a 90 would be fine. I'm gonna keep my eye out for a mot failure or something that needs some work, can't realy afford much more and I do all the work myself anyway

| It would have to be a tdi the wife would strangle me if I came home with another V8!!
Looked at the one on eBay,that's just what I'm after just can't find the money at the moment
Thing is I'm reluctent to sell the shogun,it's lovely and comfy and tows the Landy easy(at 10mpg!!!) I've just decided I want a defender

Thats why i build my 100" A bit of the best of both worlds. Both 90 and 110 would tow happily, though a 110 would be a nicer ride on a long tow. Definately tdi, even if it is a £300 disco tdi conversion after you've bought it.
