| did strata with the response group yesterday, did it south to north, It was a bit boring because the water levels were rock bottom but excellent weather and good views (the bomb hole took one victim) | |

| can't say too much, but the most tricked up, lifted disco, failed to get up the bombhole and then sheared his front prop bolts. but one of the other trucks had various nuts and bolts in his spares tin so we were soon on our way. | |

| And theres me thinking the "bombhole" was off piste so to speak, so actually illegal to drive and could cause that lane to get shut down. | |

| don't know about the bombhole being "off piste", I am pleading ignorance as never having been before I was relying on our leader to take us the correct way, however, of all the you tube videos I have seen everyone who does strata, attempts the bomb hole (hands up those who havn't ). As for tricked up well it looked tricked up to me but then I'm an old fart who thinks a body lift is something my missus should have, it had big tyres and was lifted and had the front vallence chopped out and arches cut to suit but still the vehicle struggled and stalled two or three times before disaster struck. I'm not inviting critisism of the driver or his truck just telling you what an eventful weekend we had. | |

| Last time I was up there, about 2 months ago the bombhole was NOT the correct line & was also signposted by treadlightly as such (that's not saying that in the past I have not driven it). I am now guessing that if the sign has gone then someone has been removing/destroying them & will only give an even greater case to the looney lefty lesbian treehuggers society to get all lanes shut down. Is this what we all want? I dont think so! If you want to go playing around like this then why not just go to a pay&play site, there's enough of them around!!! Allow the ones that want to enjoy the countryside enjoy it & dont ruin it for all others please! Sorry if it seems that I just got on my soap box but I just enjoy being able to drive the legal lanes before this or any other government shut them all down | |

| i think over the years that most people have tried the bombhole & so automatically think it's the correct route & the path by the side of it is the chickens route!!! | |

| I think people are getting carried away, ive looked into it and its neither off piste or part of the lane, its sort of unofficial so to speak... Everyone drives it no matter what club, organisation your from and it dosnt do any harm visually or physically to the landscape or environment | |

I agree with Gareth especially as it's all rock so therefore NOT cutting up the environment like some of the other off piste tacks like in the mud. Sorry again if I offended anyone by mentioning the correct line, that was NOT my intention | |

| Look on the right maps the bomb hole is the original legal route so all the do gooders that drive the near the fence route are off piste as you lot say | |
