| Hi all I've managed to strip everything change the diff and replace all in the right order but naw I've got a problem everything's working fine but the housing around the silver ball thing not sure rotors called has got alot ov movement and was just wondering how you tighten it to takeout the play cheers | |

| i think you need to undo the two 17mm bolts on top and add some shims but not to many as you will over tighten the bearings i think | |

| no you add them i no it sound wrong but it push down more on bearing thake the play out did it on the jimny had a shim kit thin to thick try em till you find one that thaks play out i had to put 3 in it with new bearing well worn lol | |

| But when I stripped it down yesterday it was fine but when I put back together todaywas loose so cud u explain why I need to add shims as I'm trying to learn a bit bowt fixing landys as I want to start fixing minemyself n where would I get shims cheers | |

I'm pretty sure u remove them I dont know how a jimny swivel works but with a land rover u remove shims did u tighten everything up properly? | |

| As the top swivel pin wears down through use, the wheel will move more and more freely. To keep the resistance against turning within the specified values, you will have to remove shims from under the top swivel pin. | sorry i had it wrong way round lol was long time ago i done it lol i put 3 shims in wasnt that warn then after all start with thick one and work down over time as it wears . pitbull all ways saves the day lol he loves google lol | |

| You can get it cheaper in foundries 4x4 and they easy to do sorted one out on landy take all the 10 m bolts out on the oil seal unbolt the track rods take the swivel pins out then the lot will pull out mite have to take brake calipors off you see were the swivel pin slots in on the top nock the old one out Then put it all back sorted

| Yeah wheel bearings were done both sides bowt 4 weeks ago for Mot so I'll have to have a play about with it see wot I can do cheers | |
