Anybody suggest new or good second hand CB radios.

Ive tried new ones from the likes of Maplin.
But they were poor quality, and the signal did not travel far.

The one I have at the moment works well. but the sound is not very clear/ (there no fine tuning)

What i think I need is a CB where I can select a channel and possibly fine tune the frequency??
that will work over a decent distance.

Are AM frequency CB's still legal ??
