The ‘Cwmbran Big Event’ aims to be the biggest celebration of physical and cultural activity in Torfaen. Most of the events are free and designed to be fun for the whole family.
During the Big Event people of all ages and abilities will be given the opportunity to take part and try a wide range of free sports and cultural activities, in a fun and non-competitive setting.
The event will culminate with the Big Event ‘Finale’ at the Boating Lake on Saturday, July 16 and will include raft & paddle boat races on the boating lake, sporting competitions, kiddies fair rides, craft and food stalls and a large covered stage for a wide variety of musical acts.
The council is inviting clubs and community groups in the borough to take part by joining an event, opening their doors to the public for a free taster session or developing their own event under the ‘Cwmbran Big Event’ umbrella which will be widely promoted and which unites all activities.
The council are also looking for local businesses to support this event through a range of promotional opportunities such as sponsoring an event, a taster session or providing competition prizes.
Big Event activities will kick off with a promotional event on Saturday, July 2 in Cwmbran town centre.
